Important Message to Members Dear Yukon Council on Aging member:
As you may know, the Yukon Council on Aging, the Golden Age Society and the Elderactive Recreation Association are exploring the possibility of amalgamating the three organizations to better serve Yukon’s seniors. With the financial support of the Government of Yukon, we have engaged a team of local consultants led by Wendy Morrison to advise on how an amalgamation might be implemented.
The consultants are now ready to present their recommendations to the members of all three organizations. Below is an invitation to an information session on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:30 am, at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre. The session will also be available online through Zoom, and it will be recorded and available later as well.
No decisions will be made at this information session. It isn’t a formal meeting of members and no votes will take place. But it is an important opportunity for members to learn more about the amalgamation proposal and have their questions answered.
If you’re able to attend, whether in person or on Zoom, please let us know via the links in the invitation or by contacting YCOA office. That will help with the planning for the event.
I look forward to seeing you on June 6 so that we can all learn more about this exciting opportunity.
Yours sincerely,
Penny Rawlings President
