Yukon Council on Aging is thrilled to share some wonderful news—our organization has received funding from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program. This generous support will allow us to enhance and upgrade our systems so we can continue serving our community with even greater care and efficiency. We’re also excited to announce that we have received an extension for the additional Emergency Funding Grant of $5,000 to assist seniors in need with small home or yard projects, including light repairs, cleaning, and snow shoveling. If you or someone you know is facing challenges due to health concerns, limited support, or a fixed or low income, and may need some assistance, please visit the Seniors' Home & Yard Program for more details or phone (867) 667-4357. This temporary funding (September 30th, 2026) for seniors is available up to $120.00 per household and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Defy Dementia Episode 34 We explore how to talk to children and young people about dementia in age apppropriate, stigma-reducing ways -- supporting connection and well-being for both the person living with dementia and their family.
