YCOA Board of Directors for 2022/23:

The management of the Yukon Council on Aging is vested in the Board of Directors.

Board Responsibilities include:
  • Promoting the objectives of the Council
  • Promoting membership in the Council;
  • hiring employees to operate the Council
  • regulating employees' duties and setting their salaries;
  • maintaining and protecting the Council's assets and property
  • approving an annual budget for the Council;
  • paying all expenses for operating and managing the Council;
  • paying persons for services and protecting persons from debts of the Council;
  • investing any extra monies;
  • financing the operations of the Council and borrowing or raising monies;
  • making policies for managing and operating the Council;
  • appointing legal counsel as necessary;
  • making policies, rules and regulations for operating the Council and using  its facilities and assets;
  • selling, disposing of, or mortgaging any or all of the property of the Council; and
  • without limiting the general responsibilities of the Board, delegating its powers and duties to the Executive Committee or the paid administrator of the Council.
Members can contact the Yukon Council on Aging Office if you are interested in being part of the Board.  Elections take place at the AGM in April each year.
